Heya everyone, I've been a lurker for a while, and decided to post on here. I need help, and need help fast.

I just received my new 8330 Curve from Sprint, and currently i have a work blackberry - 8703e model. I'm leaving my job for a new one and have to turn my 8703e back to the company in a day or two. What i want to do is transfer my blackberry email address to my new blackberry. At first, i was told it wasn't a problem, now my company just informed me that Sprint can't do it because the email is associated with the phone number. I find that hard to believe and if anyone can steer me in the right direction, I'd be forever happy. it's my xx@sprint.blackberry.net address i want to associate with my new curve. My company is more than willing to let me keep it, but they're saying a sprint rep said it wasn't possible.

Isn't the blackberry service provided by RIM and that Sprint (or any other bb service provider) maintains the wireless network, but anything related to blackberry emails go through the RIM network instead? If this is the case, then I would think that Sprint/RIM can process this without any problem.

    So, folks, help me out.

    Thanks!
    Brian
(btw, ordered my curve friday around 3pm on the 9th, and it came in yesterday.. my precious... myyyy preeeciioouusssss.....)

It's more of transferring the address from a work account to a personal account. Two separate accounts. It's sort of like giving your email address to a friend so they can use it on their device instead of yours.

    does this make sense?

If you have a Sprint Corporate Store near you, just go in and tell them what you want to do. If not, check with Radio Shack - they're good about knowing what CAN be done, even if they can't do it themselves.

I can tell you that when I changed my number I did NOT have to give up my device email, so it's not the number that it's associated with.

Actually... I just checked at sprint.blackberry.com - I logged into my account and there's an option to change the device. You should be able to do it there.
