Thanks for the trick, I've only been on here since April, so I wasn't aware of it. Definitely a lot quicker than going to Options and Status.

Great tip. I had heard of it before but had forgotten it.
I got it to work on my pearl but you have to be pretty nimble with your fingers since the alt and shift keys are not together on the pearl. I think it's just as easy to go to the options for pearl users.

Another option for those that have problems hitting the keys is to hold ALT with your left thumb and type E S C R. This will get you to the same information.
Someone asked about the percentage of battery charge and this screen will show that too.
To help with memory, some of you may not have heard this one. Hold ALT with your left thumb again and type L G L G. This will take you to the Event Log. Hitting your menu option gives you Clear Log. Choose this and select Yes. I have seen some very large memory come back if I haven't performed that in a while with a very long Uptime.
Enjoy!

Ok for the Pearl you have to hit ALT, the up arrow on the right, and H. Nice tip. Thanks.

Which is the up arrow on the right?
All I see is Delete and Enter.
Thnx

Wow, i hate to toot my own horn here....but im happy with where this thread is going. Anyone else have some obscure shortcuts, or anything at all?
Yes the alt lg lg works great, i tend to do it before battery pulls. Works wonders
Howdy!
Purchased first Blackberry several months ago, LOVE IT!! . . . but have had one **** of a problem. Within past month, twice I have found in the am the phone not working, a message "SIM Card Rejected". It was working the night before with no problems. Have taken out battery and SIM to "reboot", but to no avail.
In the end, had to go to the T-Mobile store, purchase, have them reconfigure another. Have never heard of a SIM card "burning out" or being rejected like this, anyone I ask, no one knows. T-Mobile only says go get it replaced, but this is twice now within 30 days and am not confident it won't happen again . . .
Any ideas?
Greatly appreciate the feedback,
NSI
yeah i constantly check that info cuz of all the media i have on my bb. thnx
GREAT! Thanks for the tip!

On the Pearl just hold down the 2 bottom left keys and press the H key at the same time. Great tip!

Took me a couple tries for some reason, but finally got it, GREAT shortcut!!!!
Great tip! Thanks!
Awesome THANKS!!!
Works perfectly. Thanks for the tip.
I'm still finding it awkward, even using the right shift key - but that's coz my fingers are enormously fat!
Thank your lucky stars you HAVE 22 MB free! With my VZW 8830, my max I have is 12 MB free, no matter what I try (and I HAVE tried deleting anything extra!). The key is to regularly clear up messages, browser cache, and to exit apps via the menu rather than the ESC key.
On my 8330, I disabled dialing from the home screen so I could use keyboard shortcuts. Pressing 'O' will bring up the options but if you leave it on status it will bring up your signal, battery life, free memory, PIN, etc. It's not as detailed as alt+shift+h but it is easier just to press 'O' if you want to check out the basics. It only really works well if you just leave it open (i.e. pressing the esc button instead of closing it completely) so this could be an issue if your battery sucks ;)
Interesting, i didnt know o brought up options lol.
Thanks for the cool tip!
Not a problem, glad to help. This shortcut caused me to move my options to the bottom of my apps. Don't really use it much anymore :)

So heres a question i figured would be decent to post in this thread. Lets say you do a battery pull, and look at your free memory..how much do you have? And lets say you wait 24 hours and look at your phone again. How much has leaked? Im just a bit curious as to whats normal and whats not. If you know the answer to the above question please post your current os.
Great tip!! That is going to save me a lot of time.

On the pearl u can press and hold ALT key and then press shift key and then press H key consecutively. No need to play finger twister to press all 3 keys at the same time.
