What does that even means? Alright guys it's too late we should have released the Z10 two years ago, let's quit and go home.

It's too late, whatsapp, wechat are entrenched forget about releasing BBM crossed platform. Let's quit and go home.

Friendster is too popular forget it MySpace, hey Facebook how are you going to compete with MySpace? You're too late. Quit and go home.

Too late has no meaning. There are second mover advantages, there are opportunities to exploit, too late is never an option...compare them one year ago and today. Not just phone sales but all the other revenues generating services that recently launched.

If that was true apple would be bankrupt, iphone and android would have flopped, nokia and moterola would never have lost their dominant spot on top of the cell phone world.

Yeah, I don't know. The people I know who work at BlackBerry are very confident. I can't decide if they're delusional or know something good that we don't. Or are happy with an ultimate transition to software-as-a-service.

What I am tired of is BlackBerry mixing trully excellent things with anoying flops and glitches. They have to get their act toghether, otherwise there will be no one left to rant about them.

Well if you're going to be a late entrant, you have to offer something different. So when you refer to facebook they offered something that was totally different than myspace so not a good example. Being late, you need to show a reason why folks should change. Your products either have to be significantly better at doing the same thing the competition is doing OR doing the same thing with the same ease as well as doing something they don't that people care about. Right now, blackberry really doesn't have that. So yes, you can be too late if your product and strategy isn't good enough.

For those of too young to know this stuff, in the pre-Jobs era, Apple was in much worse shape then BB is now, and it took a major intervention by MS to keep Apple in business. In fact, at one point there were more MS engineers working on the Mac than Apple engineers. It appears that Thorsten is playing the same part in the BB turn around that Jobs played at Apple. Just review the recent increase in the worth of BB since he took charge. To think BB is done is magical thinking on the part of iOS acolytes.
