I have a Passport and the thing blazes through everything I throw at it. Yet I see Geekbench results that show it being out performed by devices with much lower specs. Is there an optimization required or are these devices all cheating like Samsung was caught doing?

Most every benchmark is running in the android runtime. Android apps will never perform as well as native apps due to the fact that its running an OS on top of an OS.

Uh Geekbench has a native app. Passport does similar to other phones that have the 801 SOC. There are several clockspeeds found in phones that use the 801 and the Passport is in the low range to save battery and that makes up most of the difference.
