i asked verizon wireless to block my text option since i use the internet. when texting is blocked it disables my visual voice mail. verizon said that the visual voice mail and text options are linked. any clues about this?

If they told you themselves that SMS and visual voicemail are linked then that must mean that they go hand in hand. So if you delete one, you're going to lose the other.
