I have been very lucky. Never effected by any of these issues. I did have another model go out on me and was out of the loop for a couple of days, but the world didn't stop!

Outages are the worst - You end up checking to see if services has been restored 800 times an hour. Worst!

I missed the outages but every once and while when ATT edges slower I start to get cross - so I think an outage would not be good for my health, which is otherwise just dandy. I back-up once per week or ten days. I'm planning to do it later today as a matter of fact. If my Curve was lost or stolen, after calling to deactivate it, I'd go buy a new one but I'm hoping that nothing happens until the 9000 series is launched or better yet never happens and I buy a 9000 series anyway.

would have to buy a new one, of course.
    same for any accessories.
but nothing on the BB is "original" so i'd not really lose any data or files if i lost the BB...all media files come from my laptop, work mail & contacts are on the server, and i use the browser to get to gmail, etc.

I would cry if my Curve was lost or stolen... I don't know what I would do (my Calendar is on the BB), where I would go (without Google Maps and My Location Awareness), or who I would call (without my address book).

    Not aware of the outage...

In case it got stolen/lost, I'm definitely gonna be upset and we'll get a new one right away!

I backup once a week at the most. My contacts just don't change that much to the point that I have to do it any more often, and I'm not paranoid. If I lost my BB it would suck... but I'd just have to order another (thank you, AT&T Premier... multiple upgrades!).

LOL, actually, thanks for reminding me.......I've been fortunate, and haven't had it lost--but if I did lose it, I'd go back to my Palm(ducking) till I could get another BB.

Backing up your BB should be approached very similar to saving in a video game; as frequently as possible.

I never delete my in boxes so all my messages are somewhere plus my contacts are stored online. Apps also on my PC. The only thing I frak over is some document which I'm not storing. I've only had to re-load my OS once after my BB got corrupted by the Avant Go app. I backed-up after I et up again but not since.

Haven't even thought about backing it up. Time to do more research and learn how.

Lost or stolen? I'd get out the credit card quite quickly.
