I haven't had my Curve 12 hours yet. Lost? Stolen? Aaaack! <scrolling to BB Help to learn how to backup> Insurance? AT&T apparently does not offer insurance. I am now searching for refurb sites to buy backup units just in case. I can tell this addiction will be serious.
If i lost my bb I would literally lose my mind wondering where it was or who had it. I'd probably be mad at myself for not backing it up every so often as well! To cope with the situation, i would have a moment of silence in the car on my way to buying a new one ... on the same day if possible!
On Dec 26th my Berry broke, died, nooked, murdured, kapoot.. (downloading InHand from Handango) Next day Sprint thankfully replaced it (still under warranty); I also have it insured. I don't want to think about loosing it or being without it.
My old BB was broken. It was a 7250 and the escape button spring wouldn't push back out. If I so much as coughed on it, it would escape. Luckily, I was due for a new one, so I now have an 8830. I like it a lot better.
Well, long ago when I got my first pocket pc, I learned that these tiems and service are too fragile to rely on for any significance. So I focus on backing up my computer and making sure that is where all my master data is. I still back up my BB once a week, but more as formality.
Well, this is kind of a boring answer, but I'm on BES, so pretty much everything besides email is backed up continuously. I also do a local backup to my laptop once a week, which includes email messages. I also have uploaded email and calendar to gmail and google calendar all the way back to late 1996! Of course all videos and music on the MicroSD card are backed up as well.
So my answer is simple: Get a new Blackberry, probably upgrade from the 8100 to the 8120, and restore! :-D
Hmm... hadn't thought about backing up. All of my calendar/email/contact information is sync'd with my employer so that's safe...and as of yet, I don't really have any personal data on there. Perhaps as I get more familiar with it, and trust it more with personal data I'll back up...
I back up the BB everyday. I have it locked. If I lost it I would get a new one because I have insurance. I , like many BB users that I personally know, have an old one I can use while the knew one comes in. BTW its an 7290.
Like most crack heads, I would go into withdrawals after 1 hour or sooner, and try to find a friend who would let me use their BB. It would be difficult not knowing when I received an email, or how to search for places online. I guess I could find things or receive emails the old fashioned way, but I wouldn't choose too. The horror!!!!
