I remember having lost the beloved tap to silence an incoming call when upgrading to OS10.2, or thereabouts. I really liked the feature, and it took me a while to get used to not being able to do that.

I just discovered that the feature had been returned at some point without much of a fanfare. For those who also didn't know, and loved this feature, here's where I found it.

Open the phone app, and swipe down from the top to access the settings.
    Tap to silence ringer-img_20160125_115210.png

Tap on the silence ringer option and you get this screen:

Haven't tried it yet, but really glad it's back.

It's always been there. At least as long as I can remember. Just tap the music not icon above the answer slide bar. But I guess if you're referring to tapping the whole screen, maybe that was just brought back
