So wait, is it possible to make voice calls from my device on a wi-fi network?? If so, how? Also, what about BBM? Thanks in advance

BBM's will only work over WiFi through a BIS or BES server.

Wow, I guess I wish I knew what BIS or BES meant, but since my BB won't make calls over wi-fi that sucks.

BIS - Blackberry Internet Server
BES - Blackberry Enterprise Server
Yep, my two gripes with the Blackberry experience. Limited VOIP, and you cannot load saved maps from memory. Otherwise, everything else works 100 %.
Although, you do have an 8900, UMA capable. Why not hook it up to a router and switch your Mobile Network to WiFi only and see if it works...?

The carrier has to support UMA for UMA to work on a UMA capable phone. AT&T does not support this, which is why it's not available. T*Mo does, and works quite well from what I've seen.
