Hi all,
gonna be making the cross over the wonderful world of blackberry. i am trying to decide if i should go storm or curve and am looking for a little help. suggestions?
Storm if you like touchscreen. Curve if you don't. IMO the Curve is a much more reliable device. BUT if it was me, I would wait a couple more months for the 9630. I am sure you will get a variety of opinions. Verizon also has a 30 day guarantee so you can decide for yourself. Good luck with whichever you chose.
Curve FTW... I just don't like touchscreens. Except the old Siemens SX56. I **hearted** that phone...
I like the Storm's screen but if a smaller screen is not a big deal to you and you like a physical keyboard then maybe the Curve is a better choice for you
Well...depends on what you're using it for. Buisness...Curve. Casual Fun factor...Storm. The Curve is alot more stable and reliable so keep that in mind also.
The storm is a great device and has great potential but the software isnt where it needs to be yet..IMO. If you get the Storm it will ship with .75 software which has issues. There is beta software you can use to improve the stabilty. The latest is a .113/.122 hybrid and seems to be working better.
I had hardware issues with 3 of them so on the 4th I sold it and went back to the curve. Take some time and browse the Storm forums and the Curve forums and then take the plunge. :)
I've never had a storm, but I love my curve. !

This is a simple matter to figure out. Go and TRY THEM OUT. Unfortunately they're too different to compare by just looking at pictures, reading reviews, and comparing specs. Pick each what up, use it briefly, and see which one fits 'just right'.
Since version 109 (leaks) of the Storm OS, things are MUCH improved, BUT I agree with most if you don't think you would like a touch screen, the Storm will NOT change your mind. ;) I love mine thou. :)
Exactly what i was looking for, going to be using it for business. thanks!
Curve all the way.
I love my Curve. The track ball makes it so much easier for me to navigate and select cells within an Excel spreadsheet. It probably would be too much of a pain to do the same using the touch screen method. Especially if you scale the spreadsheet view down to 50% or less.

I love my storm!!!! And pretty much everything about it!!!
A week ago I finally took the BB plunge after months of reading about, trying out, and talking to BB users. I REALLY wanted a Storm. However, after all I learned and after actually handling a Storm, I went with a Curve.
I might have been OK with the growing pains of the OS but hated the touch screen! IMO it's just "not there yet" or I'm just not a mobile device touchscreen person. I believe it's the former.
I HIGHLY suggest you spend a decent amount of time with both. All the research and discussion isn't a replacement for actually USING the device. If your store charges a restocking fee like Verizon has now (35$) you should take that into consideration too, either way - as a fee so you can REALLY try it out or as a caution to being very sure before you choose.
FWIW, I'm a female but don't have very small hands or super long finger nails. The Curve has been very easy to use. Using it now :). Good luck!

As far as I go, the Curve is almost perfect for me. I read about all the problems the storm is having, I'll wait for the problems to be fixed before I consider buying one. I like having the real keyboard too. The only thing I would like to have is the big screen for my 16:9 Movies :D Lol
I'm in a similar situation. I am looking to get either the Storm or Curve. Thing is I am looking to get it off ebay. I'm not too worried about buying a Curve on ebay I did it before withno issues at all but with the Storm I'm not too sure.
If I were to do that would I be able to continue paying my monthly insurance fee with Verizon and replace it if it is defective ?
(I would thinnk that wouldn't work since I didn't buy it through them.)
I don't mind the Curve only becasue it'll be my back up in a few months when my NE2 is up and hopefully the 9630 is out. Also I know it's a great device and they're cheap enough I can get a NIB .
On the other hand I have seen some pretty decent deals on Storms on ebay and would much prefer to have the Storm as not only a back up but as an alternate when I feel like it. I'm just worried about not having any kind of warranty or insurance on the Storm.
Since I rambled my original question was...
If I were to buy a Storm off ebay would I be able to continue paying my monthly insurance fee with Verizon and replace it if it breaks?
Also, if I can pay for the insurance on the ebay bought Storm and it comes down to which one do I want.... what would you do and why?
EDIT: I am fine with either the physical keyboard or the touch screen and I do like the click screen.
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions,
mkurz12
Curve has served me very well, a very stable device. If your a tech junkie and don't mind troubleshooting little bugs, the storm is a good option.
If you need something to handle pressure def the curve... I went through 2 storms and now a curve... Waiting for a new physical keyboard berry of any sort for verizon. Left Att and miss my bold, that was the best phone I've ever had.
