I just got this beautiful, HUGE Z30 and I'm in the process of setting it up.
My question is, now that I took my SIM out of the Z10, I might put it away for a while. (my Q10 lives in my car as a backup). I can't always keep all 3 phones charged up. Should I remove the battery from the Z10? (I wouldn't be able to do that with the Z30)!

    This is rather controversial,
and there are different opinions on what to do.

    No flames, please! :-)

It is a bit confusing. I take the batteries out of other items I store, but if I were to store the Z30, I would have to leave the battery in. So if it can stay in the Z30, why not the Z10?

When I switch to my Q10 I remove the battery from my Z10 and store each part in the box it all came in. It keeps everything nice and tidy.

Agree it's controversial. I'm just giving my opinion based on my own experience, that's all.

So you have had good experience with fully discharged Li-Ions instead of having them at a lower charge (30%) or about half charge (50-60%)... ?

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing... :-)

Hmm... This contradicts what I've read about self-discharge and the risks associated with storing batteries with low charge.

Goto Over-discharging Lithium-ion in the link below.
Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries ? Battery University

The advice about storing rechargeable batteries with about 40% and charging them occasionally applies to all the chemistries. If they self-discharge too low due to disuse, they won't recover their original capacity and might even be dangerous.
