ok, I am a canadian now living in the US. I want to use virgin mobiles plans here in the states but their phones suck (only the 8530). But virgin mobile canada has good phones (9630, 9900, 9810, ect.) My question is if i buy a canadian virgin mobile phone, will it work on the american virgin mobile network. I can get it unlocked if need be. I am also willing to buy the canadian virgin phone off contract for full price.
thanks very much for the help as everyone down here is useless

Could Virgin themselves answer that? I hope you post your results, I might consider that route myself.

Call VMusa and see if it'll work on their network.

Virgin Mobile US is a CDMA carrier.

You need to get a device from them to use on their network.

Major CDMA carriers will not activate devices from other carriers on their network.

Some minor CDMA carriers will activate SOME devices from other carriers on their network but typically not all devices and often with limited feature sets.

Prior to purchasing a device, you should contact them and specifically ask if they will activate that specific device and if all the features will be supported.
