I'm going to launch my own streaming website. Already have a layout and domain. Blackberryvids.com
It's not live yet though. I will need some beta testers to help me out. This will be a mobile streaming website.
We'll have high quality videos which will stream to your mobile device. It will be suited for the Blackberry line of devices.
Send me a quick P/m with your device model if you're interested and I'll take a few people for the Beta.
Hopefully when its all set and done it will stream good (at least) quality videos at 320x240 resolution.

What I'm basically trying to do is create an alternative to using youtube. We'll let individuals submit their own videos and then they can show them off to friends and the net world through good quality streams
We'll also update the site regularly with videos.

Congratulations on taking a shot at it.

YouTube is a phenomenal success because they solved the problem of video compatibility with Adobe's Flash. Now, any video source can be viewed on a browser.

They are making a ton of cash, but they have a revenue stream in advertising to support it. Until that time comes, you are looking at hosting a potential huge amount of bandwidth.

Good luck, I will wait for official launch.

Thanks Reed. I host through Godaddy and I am aware of the abndwidth and memory usage. But I'll simply upgrade to Unlimited for a few more bucks, that wont be a problem.
When I had my video site I hosted 200+ mb movies on it and only used up about 33% a month worth of storage.

The iphone & ipod touch found a way around the flash thing and deliver high quality thru their special youtube client so it IS possible. And so far youtube has not written a special BB version. What they have for BBs delivers the low quality feeds. BUT there must be a way because the iphone does not support flash either, yet their youtube looks fabulous.
