So whats really the best blackberry phone on the market?
- So I have been using the new storm 2 now for about 3 weeks and I have to say im really not that impressed. I had the storm 1 for 10 months and beside the screen not moving around as much I have noticed little difference. Is still slow, the screen double clicks or sometimes wont click at all, tried adjusting the torx screws didn't get much out of that, so what I really want to know is whats the best blackberry out there? I'm thinking about going to the tour but i really haven't heard much about how good or bad it is. The new bold seams really nice with the track pad. so whats really the best one?12-06-09 09:26 AMLike 0
- Your Storm 2 is slow? Mine lags at times but with a good few apps installed mine holds at 110MB free and runs great 99% of the time. I have to say the Storm 2 is the best BB out right now.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-06-09 09:46 AMLike 0 - I have to agree with Bajan, my S2 (one of ten shipped to my local VZW store on the S2's original roll out date) has been flawless since day one. It's a Canadian manufactured model, if that makes any difference.
I'm running several apps constantly, BerryWeather is always on in the background, along with BerryMeter and the I Love Blackberry app, while FaceBook will run when I forget to close it. I haven't experienced any lags and my memory never dips below about 107.4 MB.
The Storm2 is the Blackberry flagship device, and if you've paid attention to the CB blog posts, things are looking even brighter going forward from here. OpenGL2 is around the corner, as well as native PDF support and Flash animation. What other Blackberry device is as well equipped? Nada, zip, zero, zilch, nil... Need I go on?
Let's be real here; The Storm2 is kinda like the Blackberry world's version of "smush-faced" dogs, you either love 'em or you hate 'em. There is no middle ground to be occupied here.
I don't think you can find a Blackberry device better positioned to take advantage of the future that is literally just around the corner than the Storm2, and if you can I suggest you switch immediately and stop peeing on my parade!
Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong (I'm probably not, but it has been know to be within the realm of possibilities)...12-06-09 10:31 AMLike 0 - The best bb is the one that works for your needs and budget. I'm really happy with the s2. Otherwise, I would have gotten a 9k or a 9700. If you live in an area without 3g or consistent 3g, then perhaps an 8900 or 85xx. Or maybe a bb doesn't really suit your needs at all.

Sorry, this is incorrect. On a corporate level, the Bold and Curve lines are still dominate which means the Bold line is currently the flagship. I don't see a wide roll out of touch only BB on a corporate level- ever.12-06-09 02:16 PMLike 0 - So I have been using the new storm 2 now for about 3 weeks and I have to say im really not that impressed. So I upgraded the os in the phone to one of the hybrids for it that was discussed on the crackberry forums yesterday. What a difference it made. Transitions are seamless. The screen is infinitely more fine tuned and responsive. I can now easily control my on screen cursor in a text box and not want to pitch the phone off the balcony. The battery life and memory use is much better. The scrolling on the screen is near fluid and transitions are much better.
I'm used to the reliability and usefulness or the old Bold. For the first time, I think this s2 is approaching that usability with the added benefit of an interface and screen that's easier on the eyes. Give the hybrid a shot. Its too bad it takes a third party developer to correct some of rim's mistakes but it really does make it on par with the other phones out there and probably the experience you're used to having.
The hybrid I'm using is the OOAKDPC 405 hybrid from bbhybrids.net. It took me 15 mins to update and was well worth it.

12-06-09 02:44 PMLike 0 - I honestly think the blackberry bold 9700 is the best blackberry on the market. I used the blackberry bold 9000 it was a bad *** phone except I didn't really like the bulk of it and it didn't run as fast. Since I got the 9700 its every thing they made the hype to be. I done test with my friends storm1 and 2 and I still got better results with the 9700. Screens not that big as the storm or the 9700 but the things that it does I'm more then satisfied!

- I personally prefere the S2... and for good reason. I have had or used almost every blackberry out there starting from the 8707. I have to say that my Storm 2 is "the one" for me. Its doesnt attract dirt in the corners like the storm 1... its bigger than the pearl... the keys are alot more "clickable" than the curve series. But alas... it all depends on the user. And of coarse, the users ability to keep the software up to date.12-23-09 11:44 PMLike 0

Tour2 (Essex) = Bold 9700
Major difference is the body of the device, and the fact that the Bold is GSM and the Tour is CDMA.
I personally love my Tour 9630. WiFi would be nice, but it's not particulary necessary, 3G, nice display, fantastic keyboard.12-24-09 07:39 AMLike 0 - I'm sure quite a few people will disagree..
BUT, there is NO best BlackBerry on the market...believe it or not the last 4 or 5 BlackBerrys to come out are exactly the same with a different housing or perhaps a touchscreen.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com12-25-09 02:56 AMLike 0 - storm2 wins right now it has everything that blackberry can offer except trackpad but it is a touchscreen so no need for that and it has a hugeee screen I mean come on if you seriously sit there with your arms crossed and repost to this saying blah blah the bold the curve is better please come up with something ok storm lags but so does the curve and so does the bold and even the Fricking iphone lags it happens.it is called stop having everything run at once. Storm wins right now who knows maybe the essex will have something else added that will top everything but I seriously doubt it because once the storm 3 comes out it will win again lol

12-25-09 03:24 AMLike 0 - by far it has to be the Bold 9700!
I am a heavy heavy BBM, msn and APP user and i would have to say, i am impressed with the performance on this machine. I have experience barely any noticeable lag during the time i have had it.
As well as WiFi is the icing on the cake to go along with the GPS which is surprisingly running great in my newly developed sub division.
I would strongly recommend it over the storm 2!12-25-09 03:30 AMLike 0 - I'm sure quite a few people will disagree..

Sorry GSM BlackBerry users, OpenGL will not be available right away on the Bold 9700 or any other current GSM BBs.
Time for us poor CDMA people to have some kind of reward for not getting the Bold devices or the 8900!
By the way, I love all BlackBerry devices and there is no "best BlackBerry." It's all up to what's best for you and your needs. One of the beauties of BB is the choice of form factors and wireless carriers, unlike some other smartphones.12-26-09 03:05 AMLike 0
