I am a new Blackberry user (curve 8330) and I've done a lot of searching different sites just getting acquainted and have just started getting a daily SMS joke to my blackberry.

I don't know where this "daily joke" is coming from because it doesn't identify the sender and I want these to quit.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make them stop? I know that I could stop them through my firewall but then that will stop all other SMS mail and I'm not sure I want to go that far - I just want these daily joke emails to stop.

Are they coming from an email address or an SMS short code? The latter can be blocked by your carrier by calling them and asking for a "premium SMS block".

I had to do a premium sms block because I wound up being charged $10 a month for something I never signed up for. Kind of like spam text messages.

Be careful who you send messages to. Signing up for things by text message can make you incur charges that you didn't plan on.

It is a short code with just numbers and then the joke.

Then it's a premium SMS that can be blocked by your carrier.
