Since the update it seems to take a really long time to load up the files I have stored in either cloud service. Box more than Dropbox for some reason. Doesn't matter if I am in the file manager or in the hub attaching to an email it just takes forever. Is this just me? Is there a fix?

File manager access to Box, Dropbox, OneDrive - all very slow on 10.3.1, from leaks to the official release, never fixed.

It's always been slow for me as long as I have had BlackBerry 10. It doesn't matter what os version. I find if you make folders and don't put to many files in it that it will load somewhat quicker. Maybe a hundred files or less in each folder.

If you have a lot of files it is not very useful. Every time you open file manager and navigate to Dropbox it has to download all the thumbnails from scratch. That is where an app is more useful, as it can store thumbnails and only download the changes.

BlackBerry needs to incorporate storing thumbnails in the file manager to be of use. Can they do it, I just don't know.

I've also noticed it takes considerably longer to load the files when accessing cloud storage in the file manager.

Use Playcloud if you move files around a lot. Very quick access to cloud storage.

Has anyone tried an 10.2 file manager bar file. I've noticed a definite increase in the time it takes to access any cloud services via File Manager including no longer being able to access my laptop via the remote file transfer in BB link since updating to 10.3 from 10.2. I figured the last update of 10.3.1.1581 official from Roger's would fix it on my Z30 but no luck. I used to use this feature a lot but now it is an exercise in extreme patience.

I have very little in Box and Dropbox, but at least I can see the files from File Manager. OneDrive just spins when I go two folders deep.

I also see pictures from my BlackBerry if I access OneDrive from my PC, but I don't see those pictures on my BlackBerry.

    Very frustrating.

I don't use Box at all however my DropBox has essentially become unusable after 10.3.1. Sometimes takes hours to load a folder. Found some temporary workarounds but, they don't usually work repeatedly.

I've essentially given up at this point. Hoping for an update to restore functionality. Had no issues on 10.2.1.

To all those that were ranting and screaming for the update last year:

So, imagine they had brought out 10.3.1 in December, November or earlier...

With so many issues remaining after quite a bit of extra development time, what a potential disaster (magnitude!) that could or would have been. Even now, people are holding back (and don't update) or are reloading 10.2.1 ...

My Z10 hotspot machine will stay for the foreseeable future, can't afford dramas with my main hotspot. My Q10 is also still happy on 10.2.1.

    :-D

(Cancelled my order for that red Q5, merchant said it was faulty or something, but I'm still planning to get one, that will get 10.3.1!!)

I think this is exactly the issue. Even allowing a separate folder for 'pinned' files within Dropbox on the device would help for often used files or folders.

It takes far longer to DL the thumbnails for the top levels of our Team Dropbox than it does to DL any single document, at least for me on my Classic. This was not a problem on my Q10 with 10.2, nor on my 9900.

My workaround has been to open docs from Dropbox in their native app (Adobe viewer, Docs to Go, etc.), then using Save As to save them to my media card. Talk about an ugly hack.

BBRY, please fix this, or try to convince Dropbox to develop a BB10 native app, ASAP!

Speed has never been either of these services strong suit.

Advice connect using uncontested Wifi Hotspot and PIN the most accessed folders within each Service.

Either depends on your network connection even over cellular LTE some towers have heavy demand.

Try using the Dropbox Android app. It is super fast.

I can start opening Dropbox native, then launch the Android app, open three of four files in the Android app, upload a few pictures, and do all this before I get past the spinning animation in the native app.

But this was always the case for me, even in 10.2.1.

Dropbox keeps logging out on 10.3.2.281, about once a day. Logging in is a pain in the rear because the process is sooo slooow and often times out. This happened with the earlier builds of 10.3.1 but seems to have stopped with the official release of 10.3.1 and subsequent leaks. Anybody else experiencing this problem? Any fix out there?

That's not my experience. It has not logged out on me yet, and I installed 10.3.2 the first day it was available. This has never happened to me before on 10.3.1 either.

After 10.3.1.1581 update DropBox became incredible slow as it is now useless to have it as a support cloud storage system when going mobile. Same happens with Box and OneDrive using native File Manager.

Again BlackBerry still misses quite a few important variables to have a great mobile OS.

My solution was to buy PlayCloud. It is very fast and powerful.

While my DropBox root folder takes 50 seconds to load, in PlayCloud about 3 seconds. And subfolders with lots of files take between 10 to 30 seconds to load in the native BlackBerry file manager, in PlayClod it takes about 2 seconds.

Again, as I said before, this has been fixed in 10.3.2. I love Playcloud too, but the built-in experience with sharing and the like are better with File Manager.

If this is critical for you, don't hesitate to install 10.3.2. It is solid and based on a late 10.3.1 build. Excellent daily driver.
