"Retina display" is a marketing term created and loosely defined by Apple. The PB has a 'retina' display as far as I'm concerned - whatever that means in numeric terms. Has anyone actually defined a minimum dpi resolution beyond which you could call it 'retina'?
And I bet that if an iPad3 had a single dead pixel, you'd see it perfectly. - 05-05-2012, 09:47 PM #27
Something you have to realize is that 'retina display' is just something that apple made up to say 'they dont have this'... A lot of devices have very high dpi, but they dont need to call it 'retina display' because that is just a gimmick and not a standard that was agreed upon by various experts. Even ape has admitted that after a certain dpi there is no way for the human eye to differentiate on a screen that size
