I wouldn't object to a hands free device type of law though I'm generally NOT in favor of government intrusion in such ordinary daily activities. Just protect our borders and I'd be cool with that. Of course they suck at that probably because they're so busy making up other stupid laws.

Yes, your eyes need to be one the road while driving. I have no problem withs hands-free, so long as you are watching where you are going.

As long as they allow hands-free use, fine. But if the law is completely no use then I would have a problem with that.

No, but some people need to learn how to walk and chew gum at the same time. Then they could use there BB or cell phone while driving. The last thing we need is more laws.

I always feel that most people lack in the common sense dept... I chat on the telephone, BUT I use a hands-free bluetooth ear piece that recognizes voice commands. Both of my hands are on the wheel, and I chat as if someone else was in the car...

I feel that the government needs to work on BETTER ALTERNATIVES to avoid risky behavior rather than an outright BAN.

It should be illegal to use your blackberry while drinving, because it is dangerous. Unless you use a handsfree, I think it should be illegal.

I drive fine while on my phone but I can't say the same for everyone so I do believe it is ok for the government to pass laws against driving and cell phone use.

I think holding any kind of device or object other than the steering wheel should be outlawed. That's why I love my bluetooth headset and voice dialing feature. Now if I can just get the car mount option and utilize the BB maps/GPS I'll be rolling!

I agree it can be distracting but should we also ban putting make up on when driving?

I would hate it, but I guess it is safe to not use it while driving.

I am going to have to say yes on this one, unless people start exercising more common sense. The truth of the matter is that driving takes some amount of concentration, and in the few moments that you are distracted even just reading a text message (let alone sending one), lives can be horribly changed forever.

I think that using any mobile device without a hands-free kit while driving should be illegal, as doing so puts others in danger as well as the driver.

I think it is dangerous to talk and drive let alone text and drive. If a headset is used I think the danger drops drastically.

I think texting should be outlawed while driving. I would love to rely on common sense here, but the people who would choose to risk their own and other lives are the people I trust the least to be able to handle it.
