NO, people should be able to decide just be safe...
Even if they make it illegal, it'd be almost impossible to enforce such a law. Not enough man power. They should provide us instead w/ incentives for buying handsfree kits.
No, just use a handsfree device. There are some people who shouldn't talk/text while driving and I'm always wary that an accident could happen.
I do not think it should be, however people do need to more careful...to many times I have seen people all over the road and yes they are on there phone:cool:
Yes...but then I would have to stop.
No, but using a bluetooth headset is certainly a good idea.
Ya I'm going to have to agree with this one it is too distracting in my opinion. It's very easy to just pull over and talk.
Yes, for sure. It's way too distracting and actually does contribute to accidents. I don't think it should be illegal to talk on the phone, just make sure it's with a hands-free kit. Now, if they had voice activated texting, that would be another thing.
No, they should not. As a pilot, I have many more things to keep track of in the air then I do in a car on the ground. It is a requirement for me to be able to talk on the radio and do those things as well. Why should I be prevented from doing the same thing in my car?
It is not the cell phone that causes the problem, it is people forgetting that the first responsibility is to DRIVE not communicate. As a pilot, it is aviate, navigate, communicate. Same should go for the car.
Yes, I think they should because the Blackberries are so addicting that they can be a distraction while driving. I would rather be forced to leave my BB alone while driving than get hit my someone texting their BFF.
Ok, I know I shouldnt but I have sent emails from the 405 in LA. I need that dictation software soon!
Isn't there a bumper sticker on this topic, "you can have my blackberry when you pry it from my cold dead fingers". Maybe I am getting that confused with the NRA & Gun control debate.
No, the government should leave it up to the individual if they want to run the risk of getting into an accident because they were using a cell phone while driving. The government has better things to do than to worry about this.
If I win this, I'll give it to my fiance. She drives more than me anyway.
i don't want government regulating everything we do...
I do not think that there should be a law that prohibits the use of a cellular device while driving. If that were the case then I would say that logic would state that any device could be construed as something that is taking away from our ability to pay attention to the road and our driving habits. How many people have you seen trying to put on make up and swerving all over the road? How about reading a book or newspaper at the red light and having to honk at them when the light changes? How about all the SUV's and mini vans that have DVD screens on the dashboard? How the heck is someone going to watch their favorite DVD and drive at the same time? I think that people should use some common sense and use a hands free head set when they are chatting it up on the cell phone. If the conversation is so intense you are going to be distracted then pull off the road and get out of the way of others who are trying to go somewhere.
I don't think they should waste they time to pass a law that people are still not going to listen to
NO!!!!!!!! just be responsible and PAY ATTENTION
I'm waiting to get a good bluetooth helmet mounted headset for my motorcycle so I can talk at any time. Hey, that's not too dangerous is it?
no but there are alot of people who shoudn't drive and use a phone/blackberry
well i rid a bik instead of drive a car if on the rare ocassion i do get a call ill stop on the sidwalk an take it via jawbone
I think it should be mandatory to use a headset or a hands-free kit for driving.
It already is in my state!
nope. big government = big problems
I don't think laws will help, but evidence of a handsfree unit should be used to defend those that get busted!
