Send a PIN message from the Web
Some of you may have seen this before, but I haven't, and I haven't seen it posted here on the forums.
Apparently, you can go to this website and send someone a PIN message. -

I have never seen that before, but always wondered if it was possible. Cool. I wonder how secure it is though. I am hesitant about putting my pin into their website to test it. My crackberry profile is one thing, but their website is another.

They can't send your phone a virus or something if that is what you mean. But they could send you repeated spam messages or the like. Remember, pin message can be received just like email messages except there is no way to block them (that i know of anyway.) So if a company got your pin, they might send you spam email only in the forum of pin messages. The chance of this happening is very remote, and if they wanted peoples pins to spam they could just look at the post your pin thread on every bb site. I'm still a little hesitant.

Web2Pin - PIN message using the web
I am the CEO of Information Solutions, Inc. and the creator of the Web2Pin application you are talking about. I can assure everyone nothing bad will happen. I like everyone else hates spam and our company does not participate in the practice. If still unsure, wait about two weeks we will be replacing the site with a AJAX version and outline our privacy policy and such in more detail. We also will be releasing a web service, online version, and the applicaiton at that time.

Closing to lock out the spammers and pointless necroposting. Let dead threads fade into the background!
