I have one of those static cling privacy deals. I took it off to readjust and it got some lent or something on it. Is there any way to clean this piece or should I just get a new one?

Get a new one. It is virtually impossible to clean the adhesive
side of any protector without removing what makes it stick. The
look will annoy you to no end.

the static cling ones don't have adhesive, they are sorta like those window clings that you see during holidays.

For the non-adhesive ones, a rinse in clean water with the tiniest possible trace of detergent (wetting agent) might work. Then let it drain and air dry naturally. If this doesn't get the result, a new one is cheaper than wasting time.

Absolutely agree. Getting it "factory" clean will be virtually impossible. Save yourself the frustration.
