    My understanding is he's playing a amoral ****** bag lawyer in the movie so it fits. When they need him to play a horribly misguided hipster working at second cup than they will break out the HTC lol.

    Except that actors, when they are ACTING, use products that compete with their endorsements all the time. They are playing a character, and using what the script says to/what the prop guy hands them. That's very different than what they do on their own time.

    In demand actors such as RDJ has once again become dictate terms. They even pick random things like only blue MMs is their dressing room or only red headed grips. If RDJ was committed to a product he endorses it would be in his movies PERIOD

    HTC hired RDJ to act in their commercials, but it's not like RDJ has some big ongoing endorsement contract with them like Michael Jordan and Nike. And comparing minor contract rider stipulations like M&Ms to changing elements of a movie he was hired to act in is WAY different. If, perhaps, he was a producer on the movie, then, yeah, maybe. And if he wrote or directed it, sure. But just as an actor? No, it doesn't work that way.

    Um... I thought it was Gary Oldman in those HTC commercials.

    Unless there's a new set with RDJ I haven't seen yet.
