If I was never going to use the flip keyboard, I would never purchase the phone.

I just don't believe that this type of phone would be more successful than a full touch.

Does BlackBerry do focus groups or something to decide what phones get brought to life and which ones never see the light of day? It would be very interesting to hear some stories of what's happened in the past.

For BlackBerry a unique hybrid phone is going to be more successful than a plain full touch. People want unique and Passport proves that.

The torch sold very, very well. The form factor lets you have a rectangular, large screen (no app compromises), while at the same time having all the conveniences of full shortcut keys, full quick search capabilities, long email composition, etc.

If they find a way to keep the device thin, I'd go back to it from my Z30 in a heartbeat. If it's as thick as the torch was, no go.

with the way the keyboard patent is designed I doubt it would be that thick. But bb will take advantage of its thickness if it needs to be. add a bigger battery.

Yeah but you aren't taking into account the brand new BlackBerry fans like me that never had a pkb BlackBerry but have fallen head over heals for bb10 on a touchscreen that blows every other one away just with the flick.

Yeah but it might get me to flick on a physical and touch on one device. (I never use physical keyboards but a hybrid keyboard like passport on a 16:9 device could be awesome. )

Personally I would like to see a high end Passport Touchscreen with a higher capacity battery then the current one in replacement of the keyboard. 4:3 ratio would be perfect since the iPad and Google Nexus 9 are sporting this ratio.

BlackBerry has like 12 devices in testing.. any of them could end up being released.......or scrapped.
I don't want to offend noone..But: we are on crackberry and lately what I am reading on your home page is just the regular news I can find on the internet..I am loving the forum and the CB format, but I really believe that news like THIS (12 device in testing?!? Wow) should be covered and spread! How many of those 12 are full-touch? How many with 'classic keyboard'? Which aspect ratio and dimension? What about wearables: are they coming? And tablets?

4.5 - 4.7 " not more than that I want the next all touch blackberry to be very compact, with very high specs, the blackberry z10 was amazing in design and looks very sturdy, comfortable in the pocket very reachable with one hand. The only problem was its battery which runs out very quickly, I hope they follow the z10 design approach. Anyone agrees with me?

When BB10 first was announced, I thought for sure they would have had a full QWERTY device, a slider like the Torch and a full touch screen. I figured those we the BlackBerry people. I had switch from my Bold to the the Torch 9860 because of the full touch screen and people thought I had an iPhone due to the size of the device. My parents still have their slider Torch for business use and my girlfriend's dad is the same. Now their companies are opening it up to BYOD. If a new slider BB10 device came out, I wonder if it would help take back enterprise markets but it could be too late.

I had purchased the Z10 right out of the gate and loved it, but it felt cheap with the white plastic back which was hard to keep clean and actually got dented in my pocket from a toonie. I was actually pretty mad that the Z30 came out the same year, as if I had known, I would have picked this phone up sooner. I am being cautious with the Passport as I just got the Z30 from the great deal that was going on and from all the issues I am hearing with the PP.

However, if something like the "Z50" comes out, with those rumored specs, I would pick it up in a heartbeat. I don't really have big hands but I thought the Z10 was a tad small and I love the Z30 size but would be more than happy with 5.2" screen. I actually hope that the phone would be a little wider for typing. If this phone becomes reality with top specs I could definitely see it being a player with the big boys.
