"RIM Still Toast" according to this article - sounds grim
No matter which way you slice it, RIM is still toast | The Social Analyst - CNET News
Sounds like a death knell. As much as I want to believe that this article is dead wrong (pardon the pun), I'm losing faith. - 12-03-2012, 09:42 AM #2
I still ask...
Why do people always look for and post the most negative articles here?
Nothing positive can be found about RIM at all?
Kinda morbid if you ask me.............MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!

Brad, I didn't LOOK FOR this article. I use Flipbook and this article was one of the ones in the Technology section. I posted it because it shows one person's opinion of the situation. He is entitled. And I think it bears discussion, that's all. And it's not morbid. It's someone's position on the situation.

First he in correctly states RIM is "bleeding customers". Then as a disclaimer to that staement he says:
"while RIM's subscriber base continues to grow (it's at 80 million now), most of those plans are prepaid and "lower tiered plans" outside of North America. The North American market is collapsing like a black hole."
And they are outside of north america, so what's your point? Is a sale not a sale anywhere????Phones:Nokia 5110>Nokia 3360>Siemens C56>Moto RAZR>LG Chocolate>Pearl 8100>Bold 9000 > Bold 9900 >Z10 > Aristo
Tablets:16GB Playbook> Playbook 32GB + Playbook 16GB > ??? - 12-03-2012, 09:56 AM #5MY TAKE ON THE BOLD 9900... I DON'T KNOW HOW, OR WHY, BUT IT WORKS!!!

The article is wrong from the first sentence where the ... "blogger" (I'm definately NOT using the word "journalist" for garbage like this!), states as a matter of fact that RIM is "toast".
He then goes on to compound the proof of his stupidity by saying Blackberry is "bleeding customers and cash" - last financials showed an increase in customers and cash reserves. That the BB10 has been delayed, as if this was new information.
He goes on to insinuate that only one "prominent analyst" has changed their tune when in fact there are several. That BB10's "status as a relic really hasn't changed in the tech industry" - he mixes information to spout his agenda.
Although there is plenty of miss-information, there is a slight olive branch of hope towards the end of his "article" so he can turn around in 6 months and [again] insinuate that he did have hope for RIM, but the truth is his closing line actually made me want to b!tch-slap him: he "hope"'s RIM fails... he actually wrote:... this individual "hope's" for only two players in the mobile phone market. This individual "hope's" that a multi-billion dollar company, employing thousands of people fails! He is a complete and utter (I can't say what I wanted to write here cos the obscenity filters won't let me) TOOL!!!"But does anybody really think that it's going to regain its former glory, ... I hope not. RIM is toast."
I'm sorry to say that, if this one opinionated, mis-information, troll article is giving your faith in RIM a knock, then you must not have had much faith to start with... there have been LOTS of more credible articles written recently, by people with far more knowledge and insight that the tool who wrote thatpiece of sh.."article". Just read them and your faith should be restored

The guy obviously went to journalism school and not business school lol Its funny how he talks about savvy investors picking up RIMM shares but goes on to discredit himself buy saying RIM or BB has no future based on the last two years of revenue. Um ok but the future is BB10 and not the legacy BBOS. He doesn't mention anything about how BB can leverage its assets globally to make BB10 a better platform choice. But of course he says he hopes BB fails WTF? Also he's a "founder of a to-be-announced startup" must be good if its unannounced...this article might even be is way of advertising like Yahoo.

Although there is still articles as biased as this garbage being written, its clear now after reading them that the nay sayers have lost credibility! Previously it was hard to determine. Recently its simple as the facts are on the table but not in the stories... Articles.
