Yikes! Can't say I'm surprised but if true let the anger ensue!

While many government bodies in a lot of countries have been giving up BlackBerry smartphones, what sticks out in the email is the following part:

BlackBerry has informed Verizon and AT&T that production of all BlackBerry OS 10 devices has been discontinued.

While BlackBerry 10 phones will apparently no longer be produced, the email continues:

" BlackBerry device support will continue for the foreseeable future and that BlackBerry is committed to maintaining their support of existing devices to include uninterrupted warranty and technical support."

The opening of the pop up store here in New York this month goes against this thought.

If they discontinued all bb10 devices why not just sell the rest via shopBlackBerry and be done with it.

They were already out of production longtime ago.. They'll keep officially selling them because they've some stock and no company just goes on to open a store only to sell a single device.. you will see them phased out when the two android devices come to life.. They'll focus on the Priv & Hamburg first, then the Rome.. It'll be this Trio.

Yeah not a surprise to most people who are clued into the forums. Chen said in the media rounds with the previous ER 3 months ago that Classic were no longer made. Passports never had enough units sold to have many production runs either.

AT&T and Verizon were probably like:

    "uhhhh.....we still sell BlackBerry stuff??"

    when they got this notice.

Not a surprise, corporate communications just catching up with Chendroid.

My prediction; three years from now, there will be a small BB10 community around here still going long after the Chendroid is consigned to the recycle bin.

I think that's way BB10 has been failing for a long time.

    News about BlackBerry 10:
    1.) Week: No more apps for BlackBerry 10;
2.) Week: Strong commitment to OS10 developer
    3.) Week: No Facebook
    4.) Week: Facebook works
    5.) Week: OS10 devices die
    6.) Week: Super-summer-deal for OS10 devices
    7.) Week: No more updates
    8.) Week: Pop-Up store
9.) Week: No more OS10 devices.

    This is ridiculous.
From week to week you don't know what is gonna happen.

Why can't those tr0ll speak out the truth and the market can react?!
Always half-backed informations that destroy hope in BlackBerry 10 and the try to rebuild hope.
    This is bs.

The message has been clear from the beginning. There are just some here who have refused to believe it, and constantly spin false hope.

It's not really a big deal. There are people out there still using BBOS 7 out there. Ill keep using 10 on my Q5, just like how there are people out there still using iphone 4s' and people still running Android Jellybean devices. The manufacturers don't sell devices running on the old OS anymore, but they are still around. Much like windows computers and macs.. Some are compatible with new OS' and some are not.

I don't think the PRIV was as much of a failure as what some media makes it out to be. Hell the fact that people are buying it is a glimmer of hope. I think things will start to be on the upswing for BB when the mid range and low end DroidBerries are released (If they are released).

For a company to switch OS's and discontinue old ones is nothing new this is just the media trying to get more ad revenue by sensationalising.

    Accomplish? Nothing really.

A Buddhist once said, "never argue with reality".

Chen's reign of eror could be summed up by that.

The only thing it will accomplish is people helping people to wring out every last drop of those BB10 devices. Have you ever checked out the WebOs forum? Same thing will happen here.

Its been know for a while that Blackberry have been moving towards Android devices and a overall software company. Im still hoping to win a Passport SE from Crackberry or possibly pick one up on sale before they are all gone. Such a lovely collectors item. I would use it till the last day Blackberry supports it. Love my Blackberry 10 and it will be sadly missed.
