Wasn't that because Samsung & BlackBerry were actually talking but BlackBerry and Apple aren't? They might not have heard the rumour too

They never denied the Huawei rumours either. Use a little common sense and consider the sources of these rumours.

BlackBerry has more important things to deal with than rumours built to manipulate some day trader's margins.

After the mistake they made with the Samsung spike, they need to nip those rumours in the bud if they're actually false.

There is no need to say anything. The Rumor died in hours and most have forgotten that it existed. One and done.

If I recall correctly... Chen didn't deny that they were talking to Samsung (though some news sources may have interpreted it that way), but more he denied what they were reportedly talking about. Rumors were flying that Samsung was looking to buy a portion of BBRY, which turned out to not be true (thus the denial). The point that Samsung and BBRY coordinated work with the SecuTab as well as the coordinated support for Knox was a separate occurrence that coincidentally happened around the same time.

Chen probably hasn't been asked about it yet or he wants it to juice the stock a little bit

I am not saying it's true all I am saying it is interesting that apple or BlackBerry haven't said anything to dismiss it as quick as the samsung rumors

The Samsung rumour came from a very reputable source (Reuters, if I remember rightly), so it gained a lot more traction and had a greater effect on the share price. The Apple rumour is relatively benign and isn't worth Chen's time.

Basic difference between Sammy and Apple rumours is that the Sammy one was stock manipulation ( pump and dump ) using Reuters, As that rumour had a huge impact on the stock price,,, BB had to make a statement.... ,as for Apple... no basis what so ever... so basically background noise.... so nothing to say...

Could be a denial that is work in progress. Now would be the time to either buy BBRY or short it and then make a gain or loss when the news is out. Good luck!

BlackBerry doesn't have to refute anything. If rumours says McDonald were in talk to buy BlackBerry then they have to make it public to everyone that they are not?

I can't believe you're all responding to this immature troll who have only 14 post. He's probably a 17 year old Apple fan boy behind that computer trying to stir the pot

How many times have we've been through these take over rumour trolling posts that goes nowhere. All it does is discourage Blackberry users to move to a different platforms because they assume BlackBerry is dead.

If any of you love your BlackBerry we need to rally against these troll post. We need to stomp these rumours and show our love to BlackBerry. Moderators should start locking these takeover troll post.

Lol, OP has a point. If the rumours were untrue they should have been refuted immediately.

That's right he didn't deny it but he didn't deny he was in talks with Atari or Texas Instruments as well. These talks were suppose to produce the Blackberry 2600 solar powered phone.
