- So I bought a Storm about 3 weeks ago, without the original receipt, off eBay. ESN is clean, I've been using it all this time without a hitch. LOVE the phone! LOVE LOVE LOVE it, especially on .122
Here's the question though. How would I register it to "me" at RIM? Or do I go to my carrier and register it there (Bell Mobility). It's a Bell branded phone.
The reason for eBay is to not be locked into a contract. I like my plan, but just got out of a 3 year contract, and don't want to be chained to another one.
So, how do I register myself with whoever needs to know, as the owner of my particular Storm?
Thanks, folks, for any hints and tips on this one.04-22-09 12:16 AM
- You mean register it so you could exercise a warranty? I'm not sure if you CAN do that with an ebay phone which EVEN if it was NIB (New In Box), is still probably considered a used phone. You could try asking that question in Other North American Carriers section of the Forum and a Bell rep may answer. And maybe a RIM rep will see it here and answer. They DO check out the Forum.
BTW Are you a Bulls fan? I'm a bit of a hockey nut and I saw them on TV at the Memorial Cup and i LOVED their jerseys.04-22-09 12:30 AM
- I've posted this on Bell's own forums, but good call on the "Other NA carriers section here". Never even thought of that!
I know this phone was only activated in Feb, so it's fairly new. The protective film was still on it.
As for the Bulls, I'm not really a Hockey fan, but I do kind of follow them, especially now that they're in playoffs. They do have great jerseys, don't they04-22-09 09:25 AM
