Hey everyone, I'm currently on Android & wanna try something else out. Seeing if someone can point me in the right direction with advice. I've played around with a Z10 & it was amazing, I use to own a Storm 2 years ago so I haven't been up on things. Not looking to replace my phone but experiment with something besides Android. If that makes any sense

Get a z10 and 2 extra batteries (new ones on amazon cost $5 each) and I'd also say get a charging dock. It was $10 and I got one just because it had a battery charging pocket as well.

So spent 20$ and well works like a charm. I go 2 weeks sometimes not even plugging in my phone directly.

Some will say z30.. but while it does have a better GPU I hear and run some android apps better, not sure you want to shell out at least 200$ more for it.

You could always get a Q10 if you absolutely love keypads. I couldn't do it

Make sure it will do everything you need it to do, including apps. While there are alternatives and ports they may not behave the same way.

I agree with starting with a Z10 as long as you have an extra battery. This will give you a good idea of what it can do and how the UI works before spending too much. Good luck!

I have the q10 but waiting on the z30. Mainly because I want the bigger screen and I've heard great things about the battery. The z10's battery didn't work out too well for me.

Basically summing up all the comments.

If depends how much your willing to spend, if your just trying BlackBerry out than go for the z10 and an extra battery.

If you got some cash to spend than. Obviously the best BlackBerry smartphone out there is your choice. If you can stand the 5 inch screen.

And if you like the BlackBerry experience. Than you can join the line of eager BlackBerry fans waiting for that next BlackBerry flagship with 10.3! Can't wait!

If you want to have the best BlackBerry 10 experience, than you should go with the Z30, it has better specs and runs snappier, plus battery live is huge compare to the z10, the only thing the Z10 has better is the screen resolution, but the Z30 looks pretty good and it's 5". I own a Z10 and love it, but i've played with the z30 and is just amazing.

    I lucked out with a $200 BlackBerry Z10 sale.

So far I am yet to go past 50 percent on my battery.

Being a former android fanboi, I was forced to get a Z10 (over Nexus 5). I was quite peeved and resistant to the idea initially.

I did my research and became curious, but still a little hesitant. Upon, acquiring the ph (running 10.2.0) my worst fears were realized... or so I thought.

After updating to 10.2.1.xx, it's like a new device!

I definitely miss the ability to run custom roms/kernels/themes/fonts + block ads, control app permissions (android only), the swipe keyboard(s) etc. etc.

Only having owned a Z10, I can only speculate re, the Z30.

For communication (Hub) it is streets ahead of android.

Everyone raves about the BlackBerry keyboard - I find it a love hate relationship. :meh:

Real estate is quite small, but - crystal clear. Z30 has more real estate but less ppi and struggles in sunlight when compared to the Z10 (or so I've read)...

Battery is pretty poor, the latest update has extended standby time. But, as soon as you start using ph - the battery will disappear rather quickly. I'll probably invest (work will I mean) in a 1900mah Mugen ext battery to adress power issues. My old charger is nicer than included one + my old car charger keeps me topped up before and after work.

Ok, recommendations... either the Z10 or Z30 will do a solid job. Z30 has more grunt and longer battery life. Z10 nicer display (apparently), and would probably be nicer for a smaller hand.

I would like to get my hands on the Z30 just to do a comparison. If I were choosing between the two, without any serious time on either device - I'd probably go for higher specs.

I am/have been pleasantly surprised with my Z10. Being on a new OS, I'm still having the joy of finding new features within the ph.

Whether or not I'll be bored after 6 months, who nows. If updates are regular enough and they keep introducing new/improved features - the Z10 should kill the cat.

If you're just looking to experiment with BB10, the extra cost of the Z30 might not be worth it to you. Compared to the Z10, I believe the Z30 adds a bigger (physically) screen, FM radio, bigger battery and Miracast.

But the Z10's LCD screen is reported to be brighter than the AMOLED on the Z30 (especially in sunlight), and the Z10's size is very one-handable.

Life's too short to waste time on juggling extra batteries for a Z10. Just get a Z30 and enjoy the long battery life, Hub, awesome sound, huge screen, and of course, Android runtime.

I have a battery bundle for my Z10 AND my Q10. Inexpensive, light weight and convenient. Even with the long battery life of the Q10, it is still nice to just swap and go. I have had nights where I did not plug my phone in properly to charge on the dock. No worries, just slap a battery in and go. With a non removable battery, that would be a problem.

Sent from my Q10 or Z10.
