Use mine plugged into my rapid charger all the time. Only time it is diconnected is when I'm going out with it. No problems here

I scrapped mine. The light would flash (as if it was charging) come back in a few hours and playbook was totally drained. Happened on a few different occasions with two seperate playbooks. Also, never measured it but it seemed to take the same amount of time to charge as the standard charger. Then one night in the dark I went to place the playbook on the rapid charger base and had the playbook upside down and the volume controls touch the charging contacts and kabooom.. .well it sparked a little.

I would think that it depends upon the provider. Although I am not a trucker, I live in a truck (tractor/trailer) hub. There are several truck stops is what I am getting to.

They sell numerous chargers that I would not trust. Mostly the head piece with a USB connection.

I would buy from a reputable provider.
