I set up a recurring appointment on tuesday and thursday. problem is on thursday the appointment runs an hour longer than on tuesday, is there anyway i can set it up so i dont have to set two appointments for the same thing on my calendar?

No. You need to set them up separately. One for Tuesday and a different one (since it is different) on Thursday.
