I came across this really interesting research piece focused on smartphone preference and spending in Emerging Asia. Nokia has a healthy position but I can see that amount trending down as people migrate over to more advanced devices. Im hoping those devices run BB10.

Having Samsung compete in the same market as you is always a threat and kind of wish we were going up against Apple and their higher selling phones.

Smartphone Preference and Spending in Emerging Asia - Jana Mobile

You can pair the above with the below stats:

    Samsung: 1,.054mm
    Smartfren: 339,000
    Blackberry: 330,000
    Lenovo: 311,000

BlackBerry down to 3rd in Indonesia, beaten by Smartfren Andromax

Blackberry needs to go full till to get a stronghold converted, the battles will be interesting.

Have always said that the issues that cause BlackBerry's downfall in the US would eventually catch up to them in these countries where BlackBerry has seen some growth in the last few years. Don't think that right now BB10 is a good fit in many of these markets..... but time will tell.

Indonesians are just like Americans and everyone else, they want apps with minimum hassle, preferably on the cheap too. Currently BlackBerry offers neither, in terms of apps and pricing. BlackBerry 10 devices suffer from both lack of app and being pricey problems. BlackBerry 10 offers security and enterprise features, but that's not what average consumer cares about. iPhone can get away for being pricey because it has the most comprehensive app catalog, apps get developed for iOS first before they even get developed for Android. Android has second most comprehensive app catalog and many devices are available for the cheap. Windows Phone has much less comprehensive app catalog compared to iOS and Android (still more comprehensive than BlackBerry World), but available on the cheap (Lumia 520).

not quite. SEA phone markets don't operate like the ones you get in N.A markets, trends and usage also differs.

Based on the recent earnings, it appears that Blackberry is going to hammer the Indonesian market.

It looks like they can hammer Nokia's market share while also holding on to their own. Samsung & BBRY have about the same marketshare but the low cost mfg can make a real run at the low end of the market.
