You betcha! I think that people use it to make it seem that BlackBerry users are better than users of other platforms because it is a step above a consumer (though the definition isn't entirely clear which adds to the "exoticness" of the word) . But in reality, they are just trying to feel special about themselves because they are still in denial. That's my theory.

Prosumer: regular consumer that thinks using a Blackberry makes them a "pro".
This type of consumer can be easily identified as they commonly use terms like: "iToy", "iSheep", "heard mentality", "I don't need a gazillion apps", and the piece de resistance, "Tools not Toys".

Consumer = a convict sumer that makes uneducated choices based on what they get told by someone or something they need.

Based on that definition there is no difference.

Prosumer looks good on paper and makes for good sound bytes.

It gives the illusion of plan when really there is none.
