why won't they SELL this stuff?

Clearly there is a demand. Blaize makes a post of giving away a few items, and over 1600 comments are made. Clearly people are interested.

They can throw money and resources at stickers, and 'personal pins', and no ads, yet they aren't smart enough to realize that they can make EZ revenue off of selling merchandise which will double as giving the company free exposure and advertising. I'd gladly wear a BB hat proudly showing the world I'm a fan of the brand.

How do you know this?

There is ZERO risk for BB to produce this stuff, they probably have a pile of it stuffed away at headquarters.

So really, what risk and cost is associated with putting it on ShopBB website? or shipping it to DR to resell?

I can buy an ultra cool and flashy pink case for my outdated, 5 year old BB curve <sarcasm>, that I'm sure people are lining up to buy, but I can buy a hat?

Don't know why they won't do it. Functionally the PlayBook leather case with chrome insets isn't the best thing out there but it looks great. This is cheap exposure for a company that desperately needs it.

I would pay for merchandise of this type, advertising for BlackBerry. Other companies, no way. BlackBerry yes. I would make them into gifts and my entire family would be friggin portable advertisements.

I gotta believe it would be profitable, but wouldn't the free advertising justify it if it only broke even in the books?

I'm wearing a Blackberry toque and scarf today. I got it last winter from a friend who worked at Blackbery. It's a VERY comfortable toque, lined with fleece. The scarf if nice and soft too. Not your run of the mill promo items. I would have paid $30 for the combo.

It too think Blackberry should sell branded merchandise.
