- I do like some of the features of 10.2. Especially the light theme for the calendar and texts!! (I know, I'm different, but I couldn't see blue links against the black background in texts, and I found the dark calendar hard to read). There are some places where I DO like the dark theme.
BUT - my contacts are really messed up.
Some are missing, some are duplicated, and some are merged, showing the same phone #s over and over.
Is there a way to just wipe all my contacts and restore them from my backup, without wiping everything else?
My Browser is very slow.
I turned off priority hub for now because it was just confusing things.
How can I get FB to stop giving me notifications? It keeps doing it even though I have notifications for FB turned off.

Unfortunately the backup/restore mechanism provided by BlackBerry for BlackBerry 10 is very limited - it is very nearly "all or nothing". There are only 3 selectable data types for both backups and restores:
- Application Data
- Settings
- Media
Contacts are probably included in either "Application Data" or "Settings", probably the former. But if you restore "Application Data", it will restore all sorts of things.
This is why personally I use 3rd-party apps to backup things like contacts, notes, texts, emails etc... before I do any major OS update. Because it's the only way to restore small subsets of data held in proprietary BlackBerry 10 databases.
There are some good 3rd-party apps that can help trim duplicates in contacts - the one I would look at first is this one:
ContactsExchange Excel vCard and more - BlackBerry World
It's a fairly new app but appears to work properly, and the developer has an excellent track record for producing quality apps and supporting them well. (He has at least half a dozen apps in BlackBerry world and almost all of them get five-star average reviews - very rare.)
A newly-updated OS will often do a bunch of "housekeeping" tasks for a while that will slow it down and eat battery. Sometimes that subsides within hours, in some cases it can take a few days. Give it some time, do a couple of "hold power button down" restarts every once in a while to help it get sorted and see if it gets better.
(BTW - if you have a bunch of contacts and especially if you sync them to online services, and especially especially if your contacts database is messed-up as it seems yours is right now - that can massively magnify the high-cpu-usage/slow device/high battery usage issue.)
Sorry I don't use FB so can't help ya there.OTCHRussell likes this.04-18-14 01:53 AMLike 1 - Unfortunately the backup/restore mechanism provided by BlackBerry for BlackBerry 10 is very limited - it is very nearly "all or nothing". Posted with my BlackBerry Q10.04-18-14 08:32 AMLike 0 - Thanks for the advice!
I decided to make corrections manually. I have too many contacts anyway, as I initially synced my Q10 with my PC. I have contacts in Outlook that I don't need on my phone. Once I clean them up, I will do a new back up and consider one of the apps you both suggested.
Other than my contacts, the new OS is settling down there is a lot to like!!
I spent all day fiddling with the settings and I am probably not finished. First time I ever ran the battery all the way down :-)
I can't believe AT&T took so long!!
