After reading the FAQ, I went ahead and tried to setup my 8820 as a modem for my Windows XP SP2 system, over bluetooth.
Can query the modem fine after setup, but when I dial I get dreaded Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).
This happens even if I run the Desktop Manager as suggested in the FAQ.
Also, not sure what logon to use. I have AT&T, and set the APN to "proxy".
What should I try next?
