I have always said that Blackberry should lower the price to 579.00 US to be more in line the the LGV10 and the Samsung Galaxy models.

That seems to be the biggest issue I have heard from the T Mobile sales folks here in the US when I question them about how they like the Priv.

Maybe they should have a promotional deal and priced it at 579.00 for a month and it but might be the ticket to bring folks back over to the brand.

That pricing should also include our Canadian friends north of the border. Just my two cents worth.

You are also buying an android device and not a bb10 device. BB10 was small in the way of options so BB can charge what they want and people will pay it. Android has many options at all prices. If you want a keyboard options are slim for android but otherwise you have tons of options. I am not paying 699 or more for a device when nexus and oneplus devices exist with better specs and much less costly especially when i dont want the keyboard

Something to consider, the One+ doesn't work on all of the Big 4 like Priv will. Also, One+ and Nexus will absolutely lack the built in security features of the Priv. They will also lack the Hub, Password Keeper and a host of other proprietary BlackBerry software. They also lack a PKB (which admittedly, you mentioned you have no interest in having).

That is why Priv is $150 more. It's more phone, almost all the way around.

That's quite debatable. No way it's worth that much.

I should have clarified that it is my belief that BlackBerry might feel the Priv commands a $150 premium for the reasons I mentioned. I however, disagree.

Priv $750, Nexus 6 $250. I chose the Nexus recently, is the Priv worth $500 more? I guess maybe to some people. As for the Hub argument, it generally sounds like that argument doesn't work so well as it seems BB10 was amazing, and Android isn't. I wouldn't know as I haven't used the Android Hub but I did use BB10. For me the Priv is priced to high, for those who love it despite the price, its not priced to high. One thing I've learned after switching to Android is there seems to be options for everyone's tastes, unless you are all in on BB10.

Ummm.....the Nexus 6 was $649 when it launched in 2014. So, the real question is, will consumers pay an additional $100 for a PKB with BlackBerry security and proprietary software and features such as Hub, Calendar, Password Keeper, etc.?

    Time will tell, I suppose.

Yeah, you are right about the launch price, I meant comparable phones right now and maybe comparable specs, but maybe the Priv and Nexus 6 aren't comparable either right now. I admit not knowing the specs to well. The Nexus 6 was overpriced too when it was released and they sound like they haven't sold well until the price went down.

There's 13% HST in Ontario. Makes it $1017.
