I am considering the mercury. Does android have the feature where you can just start typing on the keyboard and universally search the phone or internet?

Also does it support keyboard shortcuts to launch apps?

Yes and yes. (Using the default Blackberry Launcher though, it may be hit-or-miss on other launchers.)

Do know that those two options are mutually exclusive. (and only the default launcher has the option to launch apps)

I know that the PRIV is available but yet the Mercury has to show up on the market 1st unless someone got a beta device to answer your question!
