price plans UK vs US (and others)
- Wanted to start a thread to see if the rip off britain" comment is true!!!
I have an 8520 on Orange network.
Only did contract about 4 weeks ago so my price plan is a new one.
I pay 30 p/m. (At time of going to press-about $48)
600 mins
Unlimited sms
"Unlimited" internet/data (actually capped at 500mb)
(Phone was free on 18 month contract)
As far as I'm aware this is a very good (but common) price plan in UK and can be found on most networks.
I am interested however in the price of US networks.
Please let me know what you US (and UK)users are paying.
NB. I'm sure there are anomolies with some people who get ridiculous prices cos of "friend of a friend" type stuff etc so just wanting to know the normal/generic prices rather than people boasting about how cheap their contract is..
Also interested in Off Plan prices for models as well.
I'm guessing in advance that UK users get ripped off but let's see...........

Samsies. took out my 18 month contract in January. Free BB Storm handset, 600 minutes, 1000 texts, and unlimited internet for 35pm. Also took out the Phones4u insurance @ 9.99pm. Which is kind of a rip off, but I'm stuck with it! One great thing I got this year from my contract was that I was able to take my phone with me while I was inter railing across europe, and as long as I stayed on Vodafone or a partnered network, all my texts and calls were taken from my plan, so I wasn't charged an extra bean, except when I accidentally logged onto Facebook, and it charged me 5!Last edited by weekutch; 09-20-09 at 05:01 AM.
09-20-09 04:59 AMLike 0 - I am with T-Mobile UK
18 month contract, Flext 40 on business plan.
I got my 8900 free, the plan cost around 38 per month.
For that I get 225 credit to spend on any type of call, text or MMS.
Also get unlimited internet and BB data and e-mails.
I also got a BOLD free on the same price plan before I got the 8900.
Good deal if you ask me.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com09-20-09 06:56 AMLike 0 - I have my Bold with Orange UK
1200 minutes any network any time
Unlimited texts
Unlimited BB emails / data
500mb additional data (can be used for tethering)
Insurance
38 per month
Phone was free as well
Seems a good deal to me even in comparison to the other deals posted on here.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com09-20-09 07:22 AMLike 0 - Well as to US plans. I have:
700 min. Shared
250 outgoing txt, unlimited incoming
Unlimited data
$95 p/m
Sounds like UK plans are a better deal.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com09-20-09 10:19 AMLike 0 - I'm on Celcom (Vodafone partner network in Malaysia).
Monthly charges:
MYR30 for Blackberry BIS account
MYR68 for unlimited GPRS/EDGE/3G data
MYR50 monthly fixed commitment to be set off against 250 voice minutes and 20 free texts. Beyond that is chargeable.
Exchange rate is around US$1 = MYR3.49 and GBP1 = MYR5.90.
I paid for my phone which is unlocked and unbranded from Singapore. So I'm on a subscription and no contract. If its on a 12 month contract, same tariff and Bold comes for MYR1,599 (approx. US$460).09-20-09 10:45 AMLike 0
