I currently have an 8820 and a good condition 8300. I have recently had the urge to use the Curve but supposedly, it has been freezing ever so often which is why my brother refused to use it. The phone powers on and seems to be working fine. I wiped out all the old applications and data and restored it with my settings, data, and apps from my current 8820 and the phone has been left to charge since then. However, I came across a thread in which the person said they reinstalled the OS to 'bring the phone back to life' and was curious if this could work with a phone that would freeze so often.
A couple of summarized questions:
1) What exactly would the reinstallation of the OS do?
2) What type of problems would the reinstallation fix?
