Interesting that there is a large segment here that have owned multiple BB10 device in the last two years... Have to wonder just how many unique users there are in the BB10 userbase?

My journey through the world of cell phones began back in 1991 with a Motorola Flip BRICK (cant remember its model but it was the size of a brick) then on to several nokia, motorola and Sanyo feature phones. Strangely enough several met untimely and premature End of Life events - Lawn mowers, pools, truck tires etc...all of which did not elicit any sense of loss. Migrated to Blackberry with a 8830, then Torch 9800. Three years of the Torch (with minimal challenges) now working with a Q10. Next phone will be a challenging choice between a Passport (likely) and Classic (if I don't have input)

As of now, Jan 29th, it looks like at least here on CB, BB10 was the update of choise for those already on BlackBerry services (BBOS users).

And that a lot of people that jumped into BB10, sticked with BB10.

My first phone was a Motorola StarTAC. I will always be in love with that device.

Then I went to a Motorola Vulcan, which lasted me until I got a Sony Ericsson T100.

After the Sony Ericsson, I became a Palm Treo user. I went through 3 different Treos, then got a Palm Pre. I still kinda miss webOS.

I switched to BlackBerry around the beginning of 2011, when I got a Pearl. Don't remember the exact model, bit it had the ball trackpad.

Then I switched to a Pearl 9100... and finally switched to my current Z10 in August 2013.

As for what will follow up on the Z10, I don't know. If I were not on a university student budget, I'd get a Z30, but I guess I'll wait to see if BlackBerry will release an all touch high end device. The Z10 is still hanging strong.

BlackBerry Bold 9000 -> Started a position as health and safety supervisor for a Neilson Dairy warehouse, 11/08. Was told that this huge *** phone would be the main area for me to receive and send out my messages. BBM [which I didn't pay attention to amongst my friends with the Curve devices] had everyone at work as a contact, work groups as well! I was amazed, so much so, that at lunch I went to a Rogers store and bought the device outright as a personal device!

9700 -> Wanted to play with something newer

9650 -> Had a little stay in the states, picked this up on Sprint, then when it got released it Canada, I bought it as well lol

9780 -> It was basically the dark themed 9700

9900 -> The absolute worst device for me in regards to battery life. I had 3 spare batteries on me at all times.

9790 -> Baby 9900 lol felt better than the 9900.

Q10 -> I waited for the keyboard variant of a BlackBerry 10 device. This was a little bit of a learning curve, at first I missed the tool belt, now the tool belt seems so unnecessary.

Z30 -> WON THIS DEVICE ON THE EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR BLACKBERRY EXPERIENCE IN TORONTO! I hated it for the first week lol dearly missed the physical keyboard! Slowly started growing on me...I retired it, my father is now using it, and he loves it!

Passport - God sent for reading spreadsheets, fuel charts/graphs, tractor-trailer location[s], loads etc. all work related activities are a breeze on the wide screen!


Been using BlackBerry since 2008, haven't looked back.

I wasn't referring to any markets or marketshare... just that I didn't think 34 people was a lot. But yeah I knew what you meant.

Here in the CrackBerry world I think we have a disportion number of users that have in just two years owned a number of different BB10 (and other) devices...

Work always supplied my phones so I was late to the Smartphone world, first was my work supplied Torch...then a Z10, now rocking the amazing PP!

Agree. On a related note, it consistently surprises me to see how many people simultaneously have more than one smartphone. I've always thought that the hassle involved in switching phones around, or moving sim cards, or just maintaining two (let along three or four) devices is not worth it for me.

A friend of mine said today he needs to charge his apple phone every day since smart phones use too much power. I said well I guess my BlackBerry Passport is not as smart as yours because I only need to charge it every other day. Lol.

Haha those apple owners have some great excuses to defend their phones... my Blackberry has been powered without a charge for a full day and a half now lol btw my brother owns an iPhone 6 and is constantly in need of a charge after heavy use for only a few hours...
