i have a 9790 and i have upgraded to 9900,


how do i transfer the bbm contacts without having to ask everyone to manually re add me

If you still have the 9790, you can backup the contacts to the SD card and then restore on the new phones. This backup and restore is done within the BBM app.

With the OS 7 phones, logging into your BlackBerryID on the new phone is supposed to connect your contacts to your new PIN. I have found it hit an miss and still have to re-invite some contacts.

I've change BlackBerry phones quite a few times over the last year. Never had to re-add any bbm contacts. I backed it up to my gmail (or any email account on your BIS) within bbm. Everytime I change a device, I set up my gmail, and then restore. My pin is automatically updated on my contacts, with all my contacts still on bbm.

Also, I believe you can use DM to transfer "all" from your old device to your new one.

@superfly, is correct. The desk top manager software will do this for you.
