Are you on a BES or BIS?

What type of email account is it?

Outlook Express is an email client not an email type.

What TYPE of email is it? Who is the email provider?

The email I use through Outlook is Gmail. Is that what you were looking for?

Thanks for responding by the way!

    Two things:

    1) To answer the first part of your question directly -
    - Go into Contacts, then hit Menu -> Options -> Contact List
    - you probably only have a Default entry, so click on it.
    - If Wireless sync were available, it should say so right there.

    2) In all likelyhood you are having a problem using DM since it does not like Outlook Express. I'd suggest doing a search on how to get DM to sync and you should find a good answer.

This is all I needed. Thank you so much. I just couldn't find what option I had to get to to turn off wireless sync. Got my contacts switched to my new phone now!

Been googling myself silly over this one.....

Have the same problem with my 8800 when trying to sync. All fixes I've found say go into Contacts, Tasks, Calendar and Notes one by one; into "Options" and turn off wireless. Bugging me because I need to sync the contacts FROM this phone TO Outlook.

The problem I have is that this turn wireless update option is not present.

I think the problem is that somehow my BB is using BES - which is strange since I am a private user.

So I guess the subordinate question is - how do I reconfigure it to be non-BES?

(Oh - just in case it's relevant - I am travelling overseas and my carrier does not have a relationship[ with any of the providers here. The phone can't connect to ANY service, let alone the EDGE service)

    Thanks in advance.
