Please don't carry your phones in your bra.

Look. My grandmother and great grandmother both had breast cancer. I have a significantly higher risk due to that. I had a breast reduction which lowers my risk to balance it.
I think your colleagues daughter more than likely has a family history, which trumps cell phone storage.
Is there a cell tower near you? Would you sell your house if there was? Hydro and cell towers can cause debilitating headaches for those living near them. Would you move just in case?
I just think your colleague is reacting from an emotional place and I doubt you likely have all the facts, or even enough to decree that cell phones in bras grow tumours.
Edit
He'll, where I live DuPont had a factory for decades. They used to pay for staff to repaint their cars because the stuff spewed into the air corroded their paint jobs yearly. We have a substantially higher cancer, chronic fatigue, and fibromyalgia rate than anywhere in Canada. I'm screwed regardless of where I keep my phone.08-28-14 09:29 AMLike 0 - Or the fact that Viagra is mostly used by older men who
A: may have no interest in kids and may be smart enough to prevent them even without Viagra available.
B: may have had the operation that makes kids impossible
C: have a partner of equal age who is no longer fertile
Z10 STL100-1/10.2.1.324708-28-14 09:51 AMLike 0 - Except there are a LOT of factors that cause breast cancer. Does your colleagues family have a history? That's a much higher risk than a cell phone.

Mobile phone use is ubiquitous with an estimated 4.6 billion subscriptions globally.
The electromagnetic fields produced by mobile phones are classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer as POSSIBLY carcinogenic to humans.
Studies are ongoing to more fully assess potential long-term effects of mobile phone use.
WHO will conduct a formal risk assessment of all studied health outcomes from radiofrequency fields exposure .
Conclusions
While an increased risk of brain tumours from the use of mobile phones is not established, the increasing use of mobile phones and the lack of data for mobile phone use over time periods longer than 15 years warrant further research of mobile phone use and brain cancer risk. In particular, with the recent popularity of mobile phone use among younger people, and therefore a potentially longer lifetime of exposure, WHO has promoted further research on this group and is currently assessing the health impact of RF fields on all studied endpoints.

Cell phone companies include recommendations in the small print of their instruction manuals to keep the phone at least 15 mm away from the body.
Experts agree you will reduce your exposure to radiation if you follow a few simple steps:
1. Use an ear piece
2. Use speaker phone
3. Hold your phone away from your head
4. Text instead of calling
5. Don't use your phone when you have a weak signal
6. Don't put the phone to your ear until after the call connects
7. Don't put your phone in your pocket
8. Don't put your phone on your belt loop,
9. Don't give a cell phone to young children, even to play with, because they are most vulnerable to radiation.
"The skull is not fully formed, and the radiation affects children differently,".
No genetic predisposition in the case I have mentioned.

RF burns are nasty because they are not from a surface and thus don't proceed from the outside of the skin inward; they are instead through the tissue. If you've ever had an RF burn you won't forget it (I have, and it wasn't fun); they take a long time to heal. But the power levels involved in a handheld cellphone pretty-much preclude that possibility.08-28-14 12:13 PMLike 0
- Breast surgeons in the USA have raised concerns about how some women carry their cell phones in a brief paper which outlines four cases of breast cancer in young women who kept their phones in their bra for up to ten hours a day.
All patients regularly carried their smartphones directly against their breasts in their brassieres for up to 10 hours a day, for several years, and developed tumors in areas of their breasts immediately underlying the phones,? the paper published in Case Reports in Medicine in August said.
This is a growing trend. Studies are continuing. I just got this news today, I am just checking and it IS a big concern. Even Dr. OZ has voiced concerns

- This is the same conversation that took place around tobacco and a dozen other potential risks. There was no hard science (mainly due to ethical constraints in research on human subjects, which is how the Tobacco Industry could say there was no "proof"). However, smart people knew tobacco wasn't good for them way back. Like in the 1920s. So this will be an ongoing conversation. Unfortunately there is a good chance we will get better research as more cases of cancer show up. Hope not.
Meanwhile, I suggest all you guys volunteer to be research subjects. Keep your phone close to your skin and let's talk in 20 years. Its the least you can do for humanity seeing as how you have no concerns. And for sure, volunteer some of your kids, right? It is true what some are saying about risk hierarchy. And it is also apparent Dr. Oz has succumbed to the pressure to be more and more sensational and has lost his credibility (see Senate hearing). Likewise too many people are underconcerned about certain risk factors.
Slamming the OP for this post is just .... well I guess it bolsters my theory. I have this theory that humans naturally protect anything they have they consider of value. So if you see someone ripping down the freeway on a motorcycle not wearing a helmet, you can just assume maybe there isn't much to protect, eh? (tongue in cheek here, so hope none of the Sensitive Sams get huffy). You just shove those phones down your shorts. It might turn out to be an excellent form of natural selection (if I lost you, please review your 9th grade science text).08-28-14 01:19 PMLike 0 - Carrying a cell phone near the body, and using different pockets will move the exposure around, and the cell phone isn't highly active. However, talking on a cell phone brings an active cell phone up to the ear, and usually the same one. Studies have shown activity against the brain during cell use. Now we can argue it does or does not cause harm till the cow come home. I know what the cell companies will argue. However, I know 2 people in their 40's that have developed brain tumors and died. 2 that have undergone surgery and therapy and are still living. Another that has been diagnosed and they are waiting on results. To me this is too many in my circle of friends, family and acquaintances to rule out as simply chance. Like someone stated earlier, we are the first generation to grow up with high cell phone, wireless devices etc. I think as time passes, the obvious truth will come to the forefront. Until then, I recommend you use a holster, purse, and hands free as much as possible. Better to error on the side of caution. Trust me, you don't ever want to develop cancer, let alone a brain tumor. It's absolutely horrible.
Posted via CB1008-28-14 01:51 PMLike 0 - This thread should be renamed Please don't wear a bra
There have been a number of recent research showing that wearing a bra is actually harmful for a woman in the longterm.
Do Women Need Bras? French Study Says Brassieres Are A 'False Necessity'
"Overall, he found that women who did not use bras benefited in the long term, developing more muscle tissue to provide natural support. As France's The Local notes, Rouillon also noticed that nipples gained a higher lift, in relation to the shoulders, on women who went braless. When bras are worn, the restrictive material prevents such tissue from growing, which may actually accelerate sagging, the study concluded."
And without a bra, of course women would not be carrying a phone on their breasts either08-28-14 02:54 PMLike 0 - I think you might be confused as to what Viagra actually does....and who is actually using it.
I'm curious....how does Viagra result in less food creation? Are post-middle age farmers too busy having sex with their post-menopausal wives to operate the tractor and thus make us more food?
Your argument seems to say that nothing is considered an achievement unless it directly addresses the 3 things you list we are living with in this time. I guess neither BB10.3 nor the Passport are an achievement after all since somewhere, someone is hungry.
Thank you for the therapy session!
My friend... you need to lighten up.
Which is what i was doing. ... just trying to lighten up all this negativity. IT WAS A JOKE!!!!
I never point fingers at anyone personally, but I will reply if I'm attacked for having a sense of humor!
No matter what word I used in place of Viagra.... someone will always find a way to make something negative out of nothing.
for the record, My mother died of Breast Cancer and my Dad died of Prostate Cancer.
But, I choose to celebrate their life.
Fact is, we're all terminally ill from the moment we;'re born. So I'm making the best I can out of my journey. So far my 63 years have been a blast!
Everyday that i wake up to a NEW day is reason to celebrate and I live life to the fullest and ALWAY try to find the humor in every situation
because ya never know when your destination is gonna sneak up behind you and bite you in the B u tt!
Anyway, enjoy the negative vibe.
I'm going where the people are happy and smiling and are doing their best to stay in the positive.08-28-14 04:39 PMLike 2 - Thank you for the therapy session!

People here REALLY need to loosen up.....simple threads on CL have taken a turn that just leaves me speechless. people cannot voice their opinions because immediately they want "stats" or proof.....if you are not on the same page with someone and agree with them immediately they become defensive. What a joke....lol.....but again, thanks for sharing your story and ur POSITIVE outlook in life regardless of the setbacks you have had.

REALLY????
After all this... you still feel the need to defend a joke made about Viagra?
Speaking of Drugs.... We've tried Peace, Love and Harmony and Why can't we all just get along stuff....
I'm thinking if we just medicated you people we'd all get along fine!
And as far as "originally created for" goes. The cell phone was originally created for it's portability!
Today the Cell Phone no longer exists. We now have "Mobile Devices" with countless Apps, one of which happens to be a phone.
But, not to worry. If anyone is interested in finding Viagra, for whatever reason, you can tell your mobile device and it'll find it for you!
Personally, it make me feel kinda dirty. How dare them turn the cell phone into what it is used for today!!
OKAY! That should give you all enough material to stay on your negative track for days.
Make me proud!!
