I'm sorry to post what is probably a repeat question, but I haven't been able to find this anywhere, so here goes: I know to check for a clear ESN when you buy a used BB, but sellers never seem to mention anything about the BB PIN. How do you check to make sure that is okay? Or do you get issued a new one when you register with BB? I'm a little reluctant to buy until I know how this part works.

Thanks in advance for any help, and mods please redirect me if this thread exists elsewhere.

    It depends on the carrier.

I notice you have verizon, so as long as the ESN is clear, the PIN will be clear as well.

I believe only GSM Carriers lock out pins, and which case you can still use the phone, you just cant use the blackberry features.

As long as you get the ESN and verify through Verizon that it is clean, you should be good.
