I think the average person who picked up your phone wouldn't even know what to do with it.

And then it wipes your whole data when it runs out of tries. If you don't back up your phone weekly or so, say good bye to your data.

It is good security. If you have a password, someone can see it. If you have picture password, it's different every time, so they can't figure it out. If the make they same movement as you have, it just won't work

Only a noob could fail like that. And in pretty sure after 5 tries it asks for password.

Completely agree. There is no way that it will stay on Picture Password for all 10 tries. At 5 it will default to simple or regular password unlock. Most people that are able to get their hands on your phone would stop after the regular password screen shows up. If they don't they shouldn't have access to your phone.

Why is this Picture Password myth still going around...especially on a BlackBerry-centric forum?

Picture Password = 5 attempts, then alphanumeric password. There is no way around this. You can't reboot, open the camera, emergency call or any other backdoor way around it.

Now, if you're stating that after 10 password attempts on a BlackBerry will result in a wipe, then yes. That is pretty much standard on any BlackBerry and is why BlackBerry developed a program that allows pretty simple functions for backing up/restoring data or switching devices.
