Quick question and probably a silly one at that! But I can't fix it dangit

I have a perpetual "1 missed call" symbol stuck on my BB and I've tried everything to get rid of it. When I get another missed call, yes the number changes to reflect (but always one more than it should be) and when I view my call log, it goes back to one missed call. It's getting annoying!

Any ideas?

It's been this way about a month...batteries been out several times and it automatically turns off/on for 15 minutes during the night.

Oddly enough i cant see your post here...dunno if its my work server or what. But heres what ya do, call yourself from an outside line. Leave a voicemail, then access your voicemail from your bb. Now press whatever button you need to press to delete your new voicemail, and wait until the symbol is gone. Now hangup! What happened was you hung up too fast after choosing to delete your voicemail.

Thanks for the help but it's not the voicemail that's stuck. It's the icon for a missed call (the yellow phone with the #1 next to it)

I understand, but following those steps will delete the icon. I had this exact issue

backup with the DM
do a hard reset of the phone...WIPE IT
then restore with DM


its the only thing that worked for me

No...you dont need to do that. Im telling you, this will work if you just give it a try.

Step by step
1. Call your cell from an outside line
2. Leave yourself a voicemail
3.Press and hold 1 to access your voicemail from your bb
4.Once your voicmail starts playing, press 7 to delete the voicemail.
5.STAY ON THE PHONE UNTIL PROMPTED TO HANG UP

The icon should be gone.

ok shory I'm gonna have someone call me from a landline (seeing I don't have one LOL) or do it from work tomorrow and see if it works.

it works differently with every case pretty much

yeah I've had the VM icon not go away for a bit then will after deleting a new VM so I know it works with that.

Resend your Service Books by logging into your BIS account and dong it from there.

If this does not work then there is another way via Desktop Manager Backup and Clearing one of the databases but try the Service Book resend first.

If you're connected to a BES the wipe function will work but you have to redo the enterprise activation.

Shorynot, I'll try that next time b/c having to call the it guy to reactivate isn't fun.

just wipe the handheld

if you backup then wipe then restore itll be back to normal and in perfect working condition

its a phantom msg that gets stuck on the HD its just a little bug that usually a quick fix doesnt fix

yeah I've never wiped it LOL...makes me nervous!!

I called my support and they told me to go through DM going into backup/restore to advanced tab/phone call log/clear....

still didn't help LOL

yeah same here i was like yeah....no way im wiping my handheld thats nuts

but im telling you if you back it up immediately before you wipe it then let it reset itself then restore it from your DM
itll be fine and the icon will be gone

This issue has happened to a number of people... there are a few threads on this already... but while we are in here:

1) Backup to Desktop Manager
2) Wipe handheld from the device
3) Restore from Backup using Desktop Manager
