I'm lucky enough to have never needed to get a replacement BlackBerry from my carrier.

I had to replace my bold, but that's because I neglected it and left it out collecting dust... when I finally returned, it would not turn on. I got a refurb working well.

Replaced my first Pearl but that was on me. I treated that thing
like a rented mule. Bought a new one through work. Not really
    treating it any better.

Replaced Curve once because the t/ball refused to go left.

Never had to replace my 8330 when I had it, just returned it when I left Sprint. Never had to replace my Bold either, I just blacked it out. Been treating me awesome since day 1 and hope it continues.

May sound crazy...I bought a refurbished Bold for $99 from ATT...the information supplied with the unit indicated it had been originally sold only one month prior. So far perfection-no glitches, no memory dumps, no hassles whatsoever. They manufacture them so quickly to keep up with demand I think QC declines...maybe the refurb department is not under the same time constraints as the production line and they really hammer out the bugs.
