Hmmm you could maybe try printing cheap business cards with a witty (but friendly) canned response? Then they'd get the hint (and some useful info) but hopefully in good spirits due to the joke/wittiness.

I'm sure this is how celebrities feel when they have to go to the grocery store.

My question is, how many of these people own iphones? Also, what is the response of those people?

Perhaps BB needs a referral program, and you get a special referral number. Every time someone uses to buy a BB it they get some free apps and you get something as well. But that's under the heading of "marketing" and we all know that department was dismantled some time ago.

Special referral number, aka BlackBerry PIN?

You may be on to something here. BlackBerry PIN would be an awesome way to set up a referral program, considering they have your billing info on your bbid which knows your PIN.

Guys take it for what it is, but if you are an early adopter of the Passport, it is a mixed blessing. I owned one since launch day here in BC and let me tell you, owning one turns a lot of heads, maybe too many.

At first I was excited by just how much enthusiasm/curiosity there was by people when they first saw the device. It usually ranged from "Hey is that the new BlackBerry passport?" to "what is that?!?!"

I would then proceed to show people the features of the phone and everyone was most blown away by the touch keyboard. I was pretty enthusiastic about it first but now it is such a pain! I have probably been asked about my passport at least 20 times now by strangers in public and that isn't counting the many more who have stared at gawked at my device in silence. by this point I am sick of it! If I feel my passport vibrate in my pocket while in line at a coffee I am reluctant to pull it out as I know the person behind me will pester me about the phone. It was cool at the start, but now I am honestly tired of it, anyone else have this experience? I pitched the device so many times I practically feel like a phone sales rep haha.

Whereas when I pull out my Treo 755p, some folks look on in disbelief that such a device is still in use today.

You should make fake business cards claiming that you're a Apple rep and hand them out. It will confuse the heck outta people

I've had several comments/questions about mine - along with those who want to hold it etc. However I live in a small town so the annoyance factor is much less.

I'm still getting a kick out of showing it around.

The general public is now interested and that's your reaction, it would not be mine, I can talk BB all day. Maybe every other time say "love to tell / show you but short on time search BB PP demo on youtube"
