You may have to change the zoom settings on your TV when using the passport.
I know when using my wife's laptop hdmi to tv I have to change the tv's settings to fit more of the screen but when I use my laptop I have to zoom back out to normal 16:9 ratio.

I love the passport and I traded my first one I bought on launch day to a friend who I let play with it and he bugged me every day about selling it to him. I ended up taking my z30 I sold him back and 550.00 cash for my passport so he would stop texting me everyday about selling it to him.

I took the 550.00 and bought another VIP passport with a coupon code I got from a thread on this great site. Just received the VIP edition passport yesterday and I am back to having a z30 and passport both.

I am still having an issue with using the physical keys on the passport because of my hands after 30 years of doing repetitive task and my fingers and thumbs get sore sore from pressing the physical keys versus using a touchscreen device.

For now I am back on my z30 until I see my doctor about some medicine to help my hands feel better. I have the 10.3.1.632 leak installed on the z30 and I am liking it, but I want to start carrying my passport again because every time I pulled that device out in a crowd, folks would say "what the hell is that", I would just smile and say it's a BlackBerry" and move on.

You're a hero for having mercy on the fella and selling your first Passport to him. :-)

Someone would give up, keeps bugging a friend to buy an... excuse me... BlackBerry???

Unheard of. Or haven't heard that one for a while.
    LOL

Yes Nick this is due to lack of awareness about BlackBerry. Many people are still obsessed with BlackBerry. Thank you Mr Chen and offcourse Mr Prem for surpassing the latent desires of the customers with a unique innovation.

    Let me correct that.
    It's Mr Watsa, Prem Watsa.

    ;-)))

Grateful that he believed in BlackBerry's future, got the investors and funds together, and last but not least got the board to hire John Chen as a turnaround specialist.

Sweet, nice to hear your experience. So quick question for you. Do you think the passport is worth the premium price? Remembering your previous posts, you thought the price would be an issue. Interested in your current perspective now that you have worked with it.

As I have said in my previous post that I think the passport is definitely worth the 599 US price tag and I still strongly feel that our Canadian neighbors should have got the same price as the US, but that's water over the bridge at this point in time.

For 599, I feel it's a better buy the the iPhone 6 which I also bought on launch day which I took back for a refund after getting the passport, I think BlackBerry has a real winner here and I only wish they could get more devices into the supply chain so more folks can get their hands on it.

Mine is on order, but being late out of the gate I am going to have to wait....i have a friend who was going to ditch her q10 for the iphone 6 for a better camera. Last night she stated she is getting the Passport. I asked what? You wanted the iphone. She said her son just broke his iphone again.....she has had it! In reality, the Passport is the perfect phone for her. Quick question? How is the camera and video quality? If you hdmi out to a large screen TV, does it fill the screen in true HD format? I could not get her Q10 to do that, yet my z30 is amazing for projecting media play back.

Full 1080p output for videos on Miracast or HDMI out.

Yes I set both the camera and video to 16:9 format, but it did not work. It still projected as a smaller box on the 66"TV. It was the correct shape though. The PlayBook and my z30 both filled the screen as expected. I am just hoping the Passport does this correctly while using the HDMI out port.

When you use the default media player for playback, and you tap on the screen during playback a white rectangle usually appears in the top right corner across from the file name. Did you use this button to change the playback formatting? It should be able to fix your issue.

I am loving mine after a couple weeks. Best phone I have had. Does everything I want it to. Love Blend as well on my Surface Pro but I think it could use some work on iPad. Blend runs in the background on the Surface but ends on the iPad when you leave the app meaning you have to reconnect every time you want to check something. Other than that though it's great.

You must select 3 dots on right from the picture or video and select play on> then HDMI. This will convert it properly on the TV.

Also in settings with HDMI plugged in make sure you select the 16:9 ratio output.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure this is a limitation of iOS (maybe it can be overcome if your app falls into certain categories,.. like music), and probably one of the things that the Surface Pro ads bash about it.

People don't know that iOS weaknesses is how it handles background apps. I know my mother doesn't know that you have to close background apps and I am glad it works that way. I see that BlackBerry has been slowly removing real time multitasking by suspending background apps and lowering their CPU priority. They noticed battery drain from background apps in 10.0. People don't know that you should close them. On 10.3, the OS is more aggressive at memory and battery management. I know my drain I less.
