P9981 on House of Cards?

Is anyone watching the U.S. version of House of Cards on Netflix?

20 minutes into the second episode, Corey Stoll's character's phone is on the coffee table and it looks a lot like a P9981.

I didn't see anything mentioned here about it, but figured others here would recognize it better than I.

I noticed that as well (addicting show btw). Seems blackberry maybe a deal for product placement? Francis also uses a 9900/9930 if I remember correctly. Its weird after watching the show I know kinda want to get one again.. crazy how that works! Haha

There are a lot of Blackberries in that show. Seems like everyone in government uses a BlackBerry and all civilians use an iphone.

Haha I was watching that last night. The young journalist has an iPhone and the government has BlackBerry. Probably not so much product placement as an attempt at realism. I will say that I thought my phone was ringing when Francis' was... lol

When you see the scene with about a dozen apple devices for two people I don't think you will consider it an attempt at realism, so much a product placement to such an extent even MS or a car company might stop and say 'hang on that is a bit obvious there'

Not sure about the phone, but the show is awesome. I love it! And I highly recommend anyone with a Netflix account to check it out.

and this the show that flasjes all tech products I read somewhere a tv show had galaxy,pad,palm phone and all sorts on a scene where a table was present.

I love House of Cards! It's awesome and Kevin Spacey is a compelling lead actor. The British series of the same name is just as good and also on Netflix.
